As we continue to strive for safety excellence, we are making an effort to eliminate Cul-de-sac and "stop sign" bus stops.  We understand that it may be slightly inconvenient for some parents, however our priority concern is safety.  It is very difficult to see all aspects around the bus when trying to manuever a bus in a cul-de-sac which can create a dangerous situation.  Cul-de-sacs can also pose an additional challenge when other vehicles park on the road and prevent a safe point for pick-up and drop off for the bus.  Winter also creates a challenging space for buses to manuever, as the snow piles on all sides of the road and reduces the amount of room available.  "Stop sign" bus stops are another safety concern.  Drivers often are looking for oncoming traffic and ignore the cautionary and stop lights on a bus or fail to see children gathered nearby.  Moving a bus stop from an area where drivers will be distracted is in the best interest for the students and for the drivers as well.
